Ficus microcarpa - Informal Shohin
Ficus Microcarpa is a species of the Fig tree native to tropical and subtropical climates. When young, the plant appears to be a shrub, but when grown outdoors in Mediterranean climates, it can reach 40 feet high with a 40 foot crown. It also grows well as a shade tree and, for this reason, is frequently used as an indoor tree and in bonsai.
Interesting: Ficus Microcarpa is pollinated by wasps. This tree requires a warm climate and a humid
atmosphere to thrive making it perfect for the Indian tropical climate.
PLANT CARE:
Ficus microcarpa Bonsai are small bonsai that are easy to grow. They do not require any elaborate or complicated procedure for growth.
Light: A lot of indirect light is best.
Water: Ficus microcarpa Bonsai requires moderate watering. The best way to know if it is the time to water your bonsai is by placing a finger in the soil and seeing if it is still moist. If it feels moist, the plant does not have to be watered yet. The watering requirements depend on the atmosphere. In tropical climates it ranges from once every day to once in a couple days.
