Statement: Maytenus - Avatar Penjing using handmade pots

Maytenus is a genus of flowering plants in the family Celastraceae. Members of the genus are distributed throughout Central and South America, Southeast Asia, Micronesia and Australasia, the Indian Ocean and Africa. They grow in a very wide variety of climates, from tropical to subpolar. Also know by the name 'Makaoo'. This one is designed to replicate the beautiful landscale and seascape of the Avatar movie. 

Interesting: These plants bear a very attractive reddish-pink heart shaped fruit.

CARE GUIDE:

Water regularly, waiting for the substrate to be completely dry. Fertilize with compost in late winter. Prune lightly after flowering to maintain a compact appearance.
